All I Want for Christmas is a Straw Poll

But the San Francisco GOP gave me a lump of coal

Here's a novel way of preventing Ron Paul supporters from notching up straw poll wins: Cancel the polls when they arrive. Paulblogger BlueEagle gave this account of the San Francisco Republican Alliance poll n the Ron Paul Street team forums.

I arrived at 7:00 for dinner, speeches by representatives of each candidate and then a straw poll.

Unfortunately, at around 9:45pm when the straw poll was about to take place, Gail Neira of the SF Republican Alliance, announced that she was cancelling the straw poll because it was unfair. She was referring to the approximately 40 Ron Paul supporters that were standing in the back of the room with Ron Paul signs. She went on to say that she was overwhelmed by the number of Ron Paul supporters that showed up, but by that time the crowd was in an uproar.

I was outraged and so was everyone else. It was very difficult to hold back the emotions and remain calm. I can only imagine what will happen in the primaries, when too many Ron Paul supporters show up. Will they just cancel the elections?

To be accurate, the dinner was $33 and Gail allowed people who didn't want to eat or couldn't make it in time for dinner to pay $5 to participate in the straw poll later in the evening. This wasn't really the issue, since most of the people that showed up would have paid the $33 and said so, when she used money as an excuse.

Special bonus feature: Neira made the decision while wearing a Santa hat.

Stupid and evil, just like the way the Republicans fought tooth and nail against Ronald Reagan.

Lame, lame, lame.

ahh. I'd be more digusted with the political stuff in this if it wasnt so irritating to hear "you're part of the problem!" being yelled while a woman in a santa costume tries to make boring excuses. You cant take it seriously on any level. Its like a debate in the Dungeons and Dragons junior high club getting out of control. Embarrassing for all.

And the GoP wonders why they are not getting donations and support. I believe the police should have been called and charges of fraud should be brought up. This just shows how the GOP operates. They should have just done the poll, don't they realize that straw polls don't count anyway, and don't get reported, or at least the last 25 that Ron Paul won didn't. Ron Paul will have my vote and support and the GOP can't stop me from doing that period!!!

The sweet thing about this sort of situation is, we win either way. Either the GOP does something obviously unfair, unreasonable, pig headed, and asinine, in which case Ron Paul supporters have the opportunity to show how we're victimized and discriminated against unfairly, or they hold the straw poll and we win. It's all good, people.

Even though these don't count towards election, these are meant for exposure and to spread his campaign. It means just as much as the primaries as you can't win them without exposure.

This is wrong on all levels. The GOP has lost its mind in wanting to fully embrace a Neo-Con at any cost. Power corrupts... It is sad that the MSM and the party are trying to torpedo the only solid candidate. RON PAUL will WIN if we stick together and vote in the primaries and send delegates. I have a feeling Ron Paul will do great in these primaries, but the GOP will ensure the delegates they send to the convention will be Neo-Cons supporting one of the Elitist Candidates that want more of the same. We have to get the message out there, get people voting... Blogging isn't going to win this election. Pounding the pavement, door to door, face to face, pressing the flesh, bumper stickers, signs, rallies, we need to go full force and keep the excitement high through the election season. Liberty and Freedom are messages that all true Americans can relate to. People are so scared of 911 that they are willing to give up what this nation stands for, this was a real concern of the Founding Fathers. I am in the military and I am spreading the word like wildfire, Our military is tired and need to come home and defend America from the homefront. I agree with Ron Paul when he said "You don't declare war on a tactic", he is so right. Terrorism is just that. You declare war on countries, you make it swift and painful, that is more humane than dragging conflicts out for years. We have troops on the ground and the Congress does not know whether to fund the military or not... If this was a declared war on a particular nation, this would not be an issue... Man is this frustrating, being in the Navy watching Sailor's being sent off of ships to fight a ground war that the Army and Marines can's support because the recruiting numbers continue to drop. The Army has not made it's recruiting goals for a long time... Ask yourself why?
Enough of my rant...
